History of Ping Pong

Victorian England

Ping Pong was invented in Victorian England. In its early form, a row of books functioned as the net we see today and two more books served as rackets.

British sporting goods company Slazenger filed a patent for a net for ping pong

1883

1901

British manufacturer J. Jaques & Son Ltd tradmarked the name Ping Pong, forcing other manufacturers calling it Table Tennis
